What the Heck!

If you work for TYC than you probably get to wear the pretty shirt they bought for everyone that within a week had torn, shreaded, faded, etc. I believe the purposes was to "look professional". Many kids have commented that the polo's they wear are better than staff's. Now tell me why the administration would spend so much money on cheap shirts from a country that supports Terrorism. I bet our troops appreciate that! Is that abuse or misuse of state funds and tax payer money?

Next let me tell you about a little issue called $4000 mandown radios the state purchased that the facilities can't even use. I know if I was spending that kind of money and 4 months later it was still not functional, I might want some answers. I know one facility received 120 of these. Let's see you calculate 120 times $4000 and that's alot of money. No wonder TYC is broke. Is that abuse or misuse of state funds and tax payer money?

I guess one thing has become abundantly clear, with the Sunset Review next year those who want TYC under TDCJ have done everything in their power to make that a step towards reality with getting a majority of TDCJ people in TYC Central Office and running it into the ground. It is no longer about rehabilitation, it's about numbers. We have become a revolving door. We used to send kids out with some confidence in their ability to succeed and the youth had confidence in their abilities and now they lack the confidence as do we. Austin now says their 9 months is up and they have been good let them go, however the youth does not want to go and feels nothing has changed to make them be successful. I pray the bleeding hearts wake up and realize who they are really hearting is these kids that they think they are helping. We have had kids murdered who have left and kids who have committed suicide who we "had" to release that were no more ready to be back on the streets than the next person and for that I thank Austin's Decision Makers. Sometimes us poor peons know what we are talking about. We have also lost the victim's in the process.
